Tour Plan

Day 1 Marrakech – High Atlas – Aït Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Rose Valley – Dades Valley (350 km)

In the morning, at 08:00, we will pick you up at the agreed point to begin the 3-day excursion to southeastern Morocco, in the direction of the High Atlas Mountains. We will cross the Tizi nTichka Pass, the highest road pass in North Africa, with 2,260 meters altitude. Its name, in the Tamazight language, means "difficult mountain pass." Along the way, we will make stops to enjoy spectacular panoramic views and take photographs of the mountains and their valleys. Our first visit will be to a Women's argan oil cooperativewhere we will discover the artisanal manufacturing process and learn about the countless properties of argan for health and beauty. We will continue south along a scenic route with numerous Berber villages throughout the Ounila Valley. We will arrive at noon fortified village of Aït Ben Haddouwhere we will have time for lunch and to visit its Spectacular Kasbah, declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. This location has been the setting for numerous international films, including: Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Sodom and Gomorrah (1963), Jesus of Nazareth (1977), The Jewel of the Nile (1985), High Tension (1987), The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), The Mummy (1999), Gladiator (2000), Alexander (2004), Kingdom of Heaven (2005), Babel (2006), Prince of Persia (2010), Game of Thrones (2011), Queen of the Desert (2015). After the visit, we will continue towards Ouarzazate, known as the “City of Cinema” and gateway to the desert. Here you will find the film studios, whose entrance costs €8 per person (Optional). The guides at the studios speak French and Spanish. We will also make a stop in front of the studios for photographs. We will visit the Great Kasbah of Taourirt, whose entrance is from €2And if desired, a local guide can be hired for €10. The panoramic views from outside are beautiful, but the highlight remains the village of Aït Ben Haddou. Then we will tour the Route of a Thousand Kasbahsreaching as far as Skoura. We'll make a stop at the Valley of the Roses, especially recommended during the first two weeks of May, when the Rose Festival. The rest of the year, it is possible to visit shops or cooperatives of rose water. Finally, we will head to Dades Valleywhere we will be staying in a hotel with valley views. Anyone who wishes may give a walk through the valley to a small waterfall, located near the hotel. Accommodation: Hotel with Dinner and breakfast included.

Day 2 Dades Valley – Tinghir – Todra Valley and Gorges – Touroug – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert – Camel trek – Overnight in a Berber tent camp (330 km)

After breakfast, we will head towards Todra (Tinghir) and the beautiful Todra Valleywhere we will make a scenic stop for taking photographs. We will visit the spectacular Todra Gorgeswith its impressive vertical walls that narrow as you go further. We'll drop you off at the entrance to the gorges so you can walk around inside and pick you up at the exit. We will continue the journey through several Berber peoples, as Tinjdaduntil reaching Malaab. There we can visit a Berber women's shopwhere the possibility of dressing up is offered traditional clothing to take photographs with traditional Berber costumes and the Berber flag. They can also be purchased. souvenirs, gifts, turbans for the desert or even get one henna tattoo. We will continue towards Tourougwhere we will stop for lunch, and then we will arrive in the city of Erfoud, famous for its artisanal production of marbles and fossils. If time permits, a brief visit can be made, although it is not an essential stop for everyone. Later, we will feel the desert air and we will arrive at the impressive dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi). Here we will exchange the vehicle for 8x8 camels to enjoy the sunset over the dunesculminating in a unique desert experience. We will spend the night in tents (jaimas) in the desertenjoying the tranquility and the magic of the desertthe spectacular starry sky of Merzouga and the unique atmosphere of Erg Chebbi. The evening includes a traditional Moroccan dinner and a live Berber music performance around a bonfirecreating a magical moment full of rhythm, culture and connection with nature. Accommodation: Night in tents in the Erg Chebbi desert.

Day 3 Merzouga – Rissani – Nkob – Draa Valley – Anti Atlas – Ouarzazate – Marrakech (575 km)

Today we will rise very early, before dawn to contemplate the sunrise over the Great Dune behind the camp. The more adventurous can practice a little of sandboarding in the dunes. After breakfast, we will return to the meeting point in camels or 4x4. For those who wish, there is also the option of carrying out a quad or buggy excursion through the Erg Chebbi dunes (service not included in the price): Quad single: 1 hour – €40 Double Quad: 1 hour – €60 Double buggy: 1 hour – €120 (guide and fuel included) Once the activity is finished, we will resume the journey return to Marrakech, beginning in Merzouga. We will make a stop in Rissani, the commercial capital of the Alawites, to photograph the Desert Gate at the city exit. We will continue going through several Berber peoples as Tazzarine, Alnif and Nkobenjoying the arid and mysterious pre-desert landscapes until reaching Draa Valley. Here we will make several stops to admire this beautiful valley that runs alongside the Draa River, the longest in Morocco, which reaches as far as Mauritania. We will cross the Anti-Atlas until reaching Ouarzazate, where we will carry out the lunch break. In the afternoon, we will cross the High Atlas and we will get to Marrakech. We will then take you to the nearest point accessible by car and call your accommodation staff to pick you up. You will have the free afternoon to enjoy the atmosphere of the Jemaa el-Fna square and the medina, as well as for dinner at one of the local restaurants.
