1-day tour from Marrakech to the High Atlas, Kasbah of Telouet, Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate

In the morning, at 08:00 hWe will pick you up at your accommodation or at the agreed meeting point to begin the 1-day trip from Marrakech to the High Atlas, Kasbah of Telouet, Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate, heading southeast through Morocco. Our journey will take us through the impressive mountains of the High Atlas, crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass, also known as the Tichka Pass, the highest road pass in North Africa, located at 2,260 meters altitude. Its name, originally from Tamazight, means “difficult mountain pass”, reflecting the majesty and challenge of this mountain route.

During the journey we will several scenic stops, perfect for enjoying the views of the valleys, mountains and picturesque Berber villages that dot the region, ideal for unforgettable photographs.

Our route includes a visit to a Women’s argan oil cooperativewhere you will learn about traditional manufacturing process of this precious product and you will discover its numerous health and body care benefits.

We will continue our route south along a particularly beautiful road that passes through authentic Berber peoplesuntil reaching Telouet, a small town in the High Atlas Mountains famous for its Historic Kasbah of Telouet, former residence of the powerful El Glaoui family. This imposing fortress combines Traditional architecture with a stunning interior design, reflecting the region’s richness and history.

We will continue along the picturesque Ounila Valley until arriving, around midday, at spectacular fortified village of Ait Ben Haddoudeclared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. You will have free time for lunch and visit its famous kasbah, either on your own or with a local guide (approximately €10 for the whole group, duration of about 40 minutes).

This extraordinary location has been the setting for numerous international productions, including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, The kingdom of heaven, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and the series Game of Thronesamong many others.

After the visit, we will continue towards Ouarzazate, known as “the city of cinema” and considered the great gateway to the desert. There you will find the famous Atlas Studios (Optional entry: €8 per person, guided tour in French or Spanish). For those who do not wish to enter, it is also possible take photographs from the outside.

Later we will visit the Kasbah of Taourirt (Approximate entrance fee: €5, local guide not included, approximately €10 additional if a guide is desired). Tickets can be obtained from outside. magnificent panoramic photographs of the complex and its surroundings.

In the afternoon, we will begin the return to Marrakechcrossing the High Atlas Mountains again. Upon your arrival, we will drop you off at the nearest and most accessible place to your accommodation. You will have leisure to enjoy the atmosphere of the medina and the square, as well as to have dinner in one of the city’s traditional restaurants.
