Tour Plan

Day 1 Marrakech – High Atlas – Aït Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Rose Valley – Dades Valley (350 km)

We begin our 5 day/4 night excursion from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert towards southeastern Morocco. At 8:30 am we will pick you up at your meeting point in Marrakech and head towards the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi n'Tichka Pass, the highest road pass in North Africa with 2,260 meters high. Its name, in the Tamazight language, means "difficult mountain pass." Along the way, we'll make stops to enjoy the panoramic views and capture spectacular photos of the mountains and valleys. Our first stop will be at a Women's argan oil cooperativewhere we will learn about the artisanal production process and discover the many properties of argan oil for health and body care. We will continue through the Valley, passing through picturesque Berber villages until arriving at midday Aït Ben Haddou, an impressive fortified town declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. Here we will have time for lunch and to visit its famous kasbah, the setting for international films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Babel either Game of Thrones. After the visit, we will head to Ouarzazate, known as “the city of cinema” and gateway to the desert. You will have the option to visit the film studios (entrance approx. €8) or simply take photos from the outside. We can also explore the Great Kasbah of Taourirt (entrance €2, optional guide €10), although the most photogenic part is still the village of Aït Ben Haddou. We will continue along the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs until Skouraand we'll make a stop at the Valley of the Roses. If you travel in May, you can enjoy the famous rose festival; the rest of the year you can visit rosewater shops or cooperatives. Finally, we will arrive at the Dades ValleyWe'll be staying in a hotel with panoramic views of the valley. In the afternoon, you can take a leisurely stroll around the area and discover a small nearby waterfall. Accommodation: Hotel with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 2 Dades Valley – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert – Camel trek – Overnight in a Berber tent camp (330 km)

After breakfast, we will head towards Tinghir to explore the impressive Todra Valley. We will make a scenic stop to enjoy the views and take photographs, and then we will visit the Todra GorgesKnown for their spectacular vertical walls that narrow as you go further. You'll be able to walk through the heart of the gorges and our guide will pick you up at the end of the visit. We will continue the journey through several Berber peoples, like Tinjdad, until reaching Malaabwhere we will visit a local shop run by Berber women. There you will have the opportunity to try traditional costumes and pose for photographs in traditional Berber clothing with the Berber flag. You can also purchase souvenirs, desert turbans, and other unique handcrafted products from the region. Our next stop will be Tourougwhere we will enjoy lunch, and then continue towards ErfoudFamous for its artisanal production of marble and fossils. If you have time and are interested, a short visit is possible. Finally, we will feel the arrival of the desert as we approach the Merzouga dunes (Erg Chebbi). We'll leave the 4x4 here and get on camels (8x8) to enjoy an unforgettable sunset over the dunes. The night will be spent in a tent camp in the desertwhere you can relax and contemplate the wonderful starry sky. The experience includes Traditional dinner, live music with drums and a bonfirecreating a magical and unforgettable night in the heart of the Sahara. Accommodation: Berber tents in the Erg Chebbi desert.

Day 3 Merzouga – 4x4 Excursion – Desert Nomads – Ouzina – Sunset in the Desert (80 km)

We will start the day very early to Watching the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunesA magical moment for photos and unforgettable memories. After breakfast, you can enjoy sandboard in the dunes, and then we will return by camel or 4x4 to our vehicle to continue the adventure. If you wish, there is also the option of a quad bike or buggy excursion through Erg Chebbi (optional service, not included: single quad €40/hour, double quad €60/hour, double buggy €120/hour, with guide and gasoline included). Our 4x4 route will take us to meet the desert nomadswhere you can share a traditional tea and experience their hospitality (a minimum tip of €5 is suggested). Then we will visit the abandoned village of Mifis, an old mining center, where you can explore on foot, take photos and enjoy unique panoramic views of the open-pit mines. We will continue towards Khamlia, home of the GnawaMusicians of sub-Saharan origin. There we will enjoy their music and dances while drinking mint tea (Berber whiskey), with the option to purchase a CD or leave a minimum tip of €5. We will continue until Taouz and we will head to village of Ouzinawhere we'll have lunch at a Berber family's home with traditional dishes and welcome tea. After lunch, you can relax, explore the local oasis, or have an artist create a painting for you. henna tattoo (tip recommended). In the afternoon we will transfer to the hotel located at 2 km from the villageFrom there you can choose between three options to enjoy the sunset: Stroll towards the dunes of Erg Ouzina. Climb a nearby mountain for panoramic views (approx. 45 minutes uphill / 40 minutes downhill). Relax on the hotel terrace or by the pool overlooking the desert. The day ends with Dinner and accommodation at the Ouzina Desert Hotel, disfrutando del silencio y la belleza del desierto virgen. Día 4 Ouzina – Taouz – Rissani – Alnif – Tazarine – Nkob (280 km)

Desayunaremos tranquilamente en el hotel y comenzaremos nuestra ruta hacia Nkob, atravesando algunos de los paisajes más auténticos del sur de Marruecos. Nuestra primera parada será en Rissani, una de las ciudades más antiguas del país y cuna de la dinastía Alaouita, capital de antiguos sultanes. Si coincidimos con un día de mercado (martes, jueves o domingo), podremos visitar el zoco local durante aproximadamente una hora. Allí descubriréis especias, dátiles, artesanías tradicionales, joyas y animales, disfrutando de una experiencia única que refleja la vida cotidiana y las tradiciones locales. Incluso en los días sin mercado, la ciudad mantiene su encanto y actividad. Antes de salir del pueblo, haremos una parada para fotografiar la emblemática Puerta del Desierto, símbolo de esta región. Continuaremos nuestra ruta atravesando paisajes áridos y pre-desérticos, salpicados de pequeños pueblos bereberes a lo largo del camino. Llegaremos a Alnif, donde disfrutaremos del almuerzo antes de seguir hasta Nkob, un fascinante pueblo situado entre el valle del Ziz y el valle del Drâa. Nkob es conocida como la “ciudad de las 45 kasbahs” y está rodeada de oasis con numerosas palmeras, ofreciendo un escenario perfecto para paseos y fotografías, especialmente durante el atardecer. Al llegar al hotel, os recibiremos con un té de bienvenida junto a la piscina. Tendréis tiempo para relajaros, disfrutar de la piscina o explorar el pueblo por libre antes de la cena. Día 5 Nkob – Valle del Draa – Anti Atlas – Ouarzazate – Marrakech (325 km)

Tras el desayuno, dejaremos el hotel y nos dirigiremos hacia el Valle del Draa, uno de los paisajes más hermosos del sur de Marruecos. Realizaremos una parada para admirar el valle y tomar fotos, recorriendo sus oasis y contemplando el río Draa, el más largo del país, que atraviesa Marruecos hasta Mauritania y llega incluso hasta la playa blanca de Agdz. Continuaremos cruzando el Anti Atlas por el puerto de Ait Saouen (1.660 metros de altitud), disfrutando de vistas panorámicas de montañas y paisajes áridos que contrastan con los verdes oasis del Draa. Más adelante llegaremos a Ouarzazate, donde haremos una breve parada antes de atravesar nuevamente el Alto Atlas por el puerto de Tizi n’Tichka. Finalmente, llegaremos a Marrakech, donde os dejaremos en el punto accesible para el coche y nos pondremos en contacto con vuestro alojamiento para el traslado. Tendréis la tarde libre para explorar la ciudad, disfrutar del ambiente de la plaza Jamaa el Fna o cenar en alguno de sus restaurantes típicos.
