Day 1 Marrakech – Casablanca – Rabat (350 km)

After breakfast, around 08:00 h, we will depart from Marrakech towards northern Morocco to begin our route through the Imperial Cities (Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes and Fez). Our first stop will be in Casablanca, the economic capital and largest city in the country. There we will visit one of its most emblematic monuments: the Hassan II MosqueOne of the largest in the world, this impressive monumental mosque is located on the Atlantic coast, on Boulevard Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah (towards Aïn Diab), and was built during the reign of King Hassan II. It is notable for its imposing architecture, its minaret—the tallest in the world—and its prime location by the sea. After the visit, we will continue our journey along the highway until we reach RabatRabat, the administrative and political capital of Morocco, as well as its fourth imperial city, harmoniously blends the rich history of its past with the modernity of its present. Founded in the 12th century by Abd al-Mumin, the city used its kasbah as a strategic fortress. After breakfast, we will begin our route north, traveling along the highway to MeknesMeknes, one of Morocco's four imperial cities, is the administrative capital of the Meknes-Tafilalet region and is located in the north-central part of the country, making it a strategic point for exploring this area of ​​Morocco. In Meknes, you will have the option of taking a walk along the El Hedim Square, located opposite the famous Bab Mansour Gate. The square's name, meaning "square of the ruins," comes from the debris accumulated during the city's construction. This square connects the medina with the old Jewish quarter and is the heart of the souk, with its alleyways lined with shops, restaurants, and terraces. Measuring 200 meters long by 100 meters wide, it's considered the "little sister" of Marrakech's Jemaa el-Fna square. In the morning, the square offers a tranquil atmosphere, but as evening falls, it comes alive with bustle: jugglers, acrobats, and vendors mingle with tourists, creating an authentic experience of Moroccan life. From one of its terraces, sipping Moroccan tea allows you to observe the fruit and vegetable market, famous for its olives, unique in Morocco. After lunch, around 2:00 pm, we will continue towards Volubilis, located about 20 km north of Meknes, at the foot of Mount Zerhoun and near the holy city of Mulay Idris. Volubilis is a Roman archaeological site, one of the best preserved in North Africa, declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997. Here you can explore the ruins and appreciate mosaics, temples and ancient structures that tell the story of the Roman presence in Morocco.
