Tour Plan

Day 1 Marrakech – High Atlas – Aït Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Rose Valley – Dades Valley (350 km)

At 8:30 am we will pick you up at your accommodation or at the agreed point in Marrakech to begin the 5-day, 4-night excursion, celebrating the Midsummer's Eve in the Sahara Desert. We will begin our journey towards southeastern Morocco, crossing the majestic mountains of High Atlas. We will cross the famous Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260 m), the highest road pass in North Africa, whose name in Tamazight means "difficult mountain pass." During the journey, we will make several stops to contemplate the landscapes, admire the valleys, and capture spectacular photos. We will also visit a Women's argan oil cooperativewhere we will learn the artisanal extraction process and the many benefits of this precious product. We will continue south along secondary roads surrounded by picturesque Berber villages, until we reach Aït Ben Haddou, the most famous fortified ksar in Morocco and declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. Here we will have time for lunch and to visit the kasbah, which has been the setting for numerous films and series, such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Game of Thrones and many more. In the afternoon, we will head to Ouarzazate, known as the “gateway to the desert” and the city of cinema. Here you can optionally visit the Atlas Film Studios (entrance €8) and the Kasbah of Taourirt (Entrance €5, optional local guide €10). The route will continue along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs towards Skoura and then to Valley of the Roses. If you travel in May, you might coincide with the famous Rose FestivalThe rest of the year you can visit cooperatives and shops where they make products based on rose water. Finally we will arrive at Dades ValleyWe will be staying in a hotel with stunning views of the valley. Those who wish can take a leisurely stroll to a small nearby waterfall. Hotel accommodation with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 2 Dades Valley – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Touroug – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert – Camel trek and overnight stay in Berber tents (330 km)

After breakfast, we will depart for Tinghir to delve into the spectacular Todra Valley, one of the most impressive corners of southern Morocco. We will do a scenic stop to admire the scenery and take photos before continuing on to the famous Todra Gorges, known for their imposing rock walls that reach up to 300 meters high. You will have time to walk through the gorge, exploring its trails and admiring the magnitude of this natural landscape, while our team picks you up at the end of the tour. We will continue the route through several Berber peoples, like Tinjdad, until reaching Malaab, where we will make a stop at a local shop run by Berber women. There you can try them on traditional clothing, pose with the Amazigh flag and buy souvenirs, gifts or typical desert turbans. We will get to... later Tourougwhere we will pause for lunch before continuing towards Erfoud, famous for its artisanal production of marbles and fossils. The visit is optional and will depend on the time and interest of the group. Finally, we will head towards the Merzouga desert (Erg Chebbi)where we will exchange our vehicle for camels (8x8) to enjoy an unforgettable walk through the dunesadmiring the sunset over the Sahara. Upon arriving at tent campawaits you magical night under the stars. Dinner will be served at the camp, accompanied by a live Berber music show and a bonfire.Accommodation in Berber tents in the Erg Chebbi desert, a unique and unforgettable experience under the Sahara sky.

Day 3 Merzouga – 4x4 Excursion – Nomads – Mifiss Mines – Khamlia – Taouz – Ouzina – Lunch with a Berber family – Henna – Sunset in the Ouzina desert (80 km)

To the sunriseWe will climb a dune to contemplate the Sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunesAn unforgettable spectacle that fills the desert with magic, bathed in golden and orange hues. After breakfast, we will return to the starting point, either by camels or in 4x4as you prefer. For the more adventurous, there is the option of practicing sandboarding on the dunes or perform a quad bike or buggy excursion (Activity not included: single quad €40/h, double €60/h, double buggy €120/h, with guide and fuel included). Next, we will begin a 4x4 route around the Merzouga desert, touring part of the famous Dakar Rally track. We will visit the desert nomadssharing a welcome tea and with the possibility of contributing with a small tip or purchasing their traditional crafts. We will continue towards the abandoned village of Mifis, an old mining center whose hills offer exceptional panoramic views. Even today, lead and kohl mines are still being exploited with shafts up to 50 meters deep. Our route continues towards Khamlia, known as the Gnawa people, descendants of sub-Saharan tribes. There we will enjoy their traditional music and dances while we have a mint tea. It is recommended to leave a tip or purchase a music CD as a souvenir. Then we will go through Taouz before heading to Ouzina desert. At noon, we will be greeted by a Berber family in their homewhere we will taste a traditional lunchwhich includes salad or noodles, Berber pizza, and welcome tea. After lunch, you will have free time to rest, stroll through the oasis and learn about the daily life of the village. You will also be able to... henna tattoo with a local specialist (tip recommended). In the afternoon, we will settle into a hotel in the middle of the Ouzina desert. From here, you can choose how to enjoy the sunset: Go up to a nearby mountain (45 min uphill / 40 min downhill) to contemplate a panoramic and wild sunset. Walk to the Erg Ouzina dunes and admire the sunset. Relax in the hotel terrace next to the poolwith magical views of the desert and the possibility of spend the night under the stars outdoors. Day 4 Ouzina – Taouz – Rissani – Alnif – Tazarine – Nkob (280 km)

Behind him breakfast at the hotel, we will begin the route towards Nkobenjoying a day full of contrasts between desert landscapes, green oases and traditional villages. Our first stop will be in Rissani, one of the oldest cities in Morocco and the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty, where the roots of the ancient sultans are found. If our visit coincides with market days (Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday), we will have the opportunity to tour its lively souk. It's also open on other days, although less busy. For approximately one hour walkWe will discover local products such as Spices, dates, handicrafts, jewelry and even animals for sale, an authentic reflection of everyday Moroccan life. Before continuing, we'll make a stop to photograph the famous Desert Gate on the outskirts of Rissani, one of the most emblematic places in the region. We will continue our route through the Pre-desert landscapes of southern Morocco, dotted with traditional Berber villagesuntil reaching Alnif, where we will carry out a lunch break. In the afternoon, we will continue towards Nkob, known as the city ​​of 45 kasbahs. This charming village is surrounded by two oases full of palm treeswhich gives it a unique and picturesque atmosphere. Upon arrival, we will welcome you with a Welcome tea by the pool, ideal for relaxing after the trip. You will have leisure to enjoy the hotel or take a stroll through the town and its surroundingscontemplating the magic of sunset colors in this historic region. Day 5 N'kob – Drâa Valley – Anti Atlas – Ouarzazate – Marrakech (325 km)

After the breakfast at the hotel, we will begin the route towards the spectacular Draa Valley, the longest in Morocco, stretching from the Atlas Mountains to Mauritania and even reaching the famous Playa Blanca de Agdz. We will do a scenic stop to enjoy the breathtaking views, take photographs and contemplate the palm groves and kasbahs that give identity to this unique region. We will continue crossing the Anti-Atlas Mountains, crossing the Ait Saouen pass (1,660 m altitude), with breathtaking mountain scenery. We will continue towards Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the desert and the city of cinema, before beginning the return to Marrakech by crossing the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260 m), where we will make several stops to enjoy the panoramic views and capture memorable photographs of the valleys and mountains. In the afternoon we will arrive at MarrakechWe will drop you off as close as possible to your accommodation. If necessary, we will coordinate with the staff of riad or hotel so they can pick you up. You will have the free afternoon to get lost in the Jamaa el Fna square and the medina, enjoy the magical atmosphere and have dinner at one of the restaurants in the area.
