Day 3 Foum Zguid – Lake Iriki – Erg Chegaga – M'hamid – Zagora (250 km)

The first part of the journey will be approximately 60 km on paved roadoffering panoramic views of the valley and the Berber villages that dot the route. We will cross the Maider's dry lake, a unique landscape reminiscent of the immensity of the Sahara, until reaching the town of Tafraoutewhere we will make a stop to enjoy the lunch. After recharging our energy, we will continue along the track, crossing the Oued GhrisA river of sand will take us even deeper into the remote landscapes of the desert. After the breakfast, around the 10:00 hWe will set off at a leisurely pace to explore the surroundings of Erg Ouzina desert in a 4x4. The route will allow us to enjoy dunes and landscapes of great beauty, with the freedom to stop at the best spots for photos and admire the immensity of the desert. Our first stop will be to meet the authentic nomads of the Sahara of the area, where we will share a welcome tea With them. It is recommended to leave a minimum tip of €5 or purchase one of the handcrafted products they offer as a souvenir. Our first stop will be at the village of Jdaid, an authentic Berber village located in the middle of nowhere, where you can observe traditional desert life and take photographs of its unique surroundings. We will continue towards the Cave Paintingswhich are accessed by climbing a small hill of sand and rock. From the top we will contemplate these prehistoric engravings, witnesses of ancient civilizations that inhabited the region thousands of years ago. Next, we will head to TaouzFrom there we will take the paved road to the village of Khamlia, known as the Gnawa peoplemusicians of sub-Saharan origin.
