Tour Plan

Day 1 Marrakech – High Atlas – Aït Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura – Rose Valley – Dades Valley (350 km)

In the morning, at 8:30 a.m., our team will pick you up at the agreed point to begin the 6-day, 5-night trip to the Sahara Desert from Marrakechheading towards southeastern Morocco. We will cross the High Atlas Mountains by the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, the highest road pass in North Africa, with 2,260 meters high. Its name in Tamazight means “difficult mountain pass.” During the journey, we will make several stops to enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the mountains and their deep valleys, perfect for memorable photographs. Our first stop will be at a Women's argan oil cooperativewhere we will learn about the artisanal production process and discover the many properties of argan oil for health and beauty. We will continue our route along a secondary, more picturesque road that crosses traditional Berber villages and beautiful valley landscapes. At midday we will arrive at fortified village of Aït Ben Haddouwhere we will enjoy time for lunch and explore its famous Kasbah, declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. This stunning setting has been the backdrop for numerous international films, such as Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Gladiator (2000), Game of Thrones (2011) and Queen of the Desert (2015)among many others. After the visit, we will continue towards Ouarzazate, known as the “City of Cinema”, where the famous film studios are located. Entry to the studios costs approximately €8 per person. Although film enthusiasts can explore the interior, the best option for those who aren't film buffs is to take photos outside and enjoy the scenery. We will also visit the Kasbah of Taourirt (entrance €5, optional guide €10) and we will take panoramic photos of the place; however, the main charm remains Aït Ben Haddou. We'll continue along the famous Route of a Thousand Kasbahs until reaching SkouraA stretch steeped in history and traditional architecture. We will make a stop at the Valley of the Roseswhere, during the first and second week of May, the Rose Festival. At other times of the year, it is possible to visit rosewater shops or cooperativesFor those who wish to learn more about this typical product of the region. Finally, we will arrive at the Dades Valleywhere we will stay in a hotel with stunning views of the valley. You will be able to do a free stroll around the surroundingsdescending along paths that lead to a nearby mini waterfallbefore returning to the hotel. Day 2 Dades Valley - Tinghir - Todra Valley and Gorges - Touroug - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert - Camel trek - Overnight in a Berber tent camp (330 km)

After breakfast at the Dades ValleyWe will begin our journey towards Tinghir and the spectacular Todra Valley...a stunning natural setting offering panoramic views perfect for photographs. We will arrive at the Todra GorgesFamous for their imposing vertical walls that narrow as we progress. We'll drop you off at the entrance to the gorges for a walk through the canyon to enjoy the unique beauty of the place; our team will pick you up at the exit to continue the route. The path will take us through several Berber peoples, as Tinjdaduntil reaching Malaabwhere we will make a special stop at the Berber women's craft shop. Here you can try on traditional Berber clothing and pose for photos with the traditional dresses and the Berber flag. In addition, you can purchase souvenirs, handcrafted gifts, or a typical desert turban, perfect for your experience in Merzouga. We will continue towards Tourougwhere we'll stop for lunch and recharge before venturing into the desert region. Then we'll pass through Erfoud, a city known for its artisanal production of marbles and fossils. If time permits and you are interested, you can make a short visit to learn more about this local tradition. Finally, we will arrive at the impressive dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)where we will exchange the 4x4 for the camels (8x8) to experience admiring the sunset over the dunes. We will enjoy a camel ride through the desertculminating in our tent camp, a place designed to experience the authentic tranquility of the Sahara. As night falls, the starry desert sky will accompany us as we enjoy a traditional dinner under the starsaccompanied by live music with drums and a bonfirecreating a magical and unique atmosphere. Day 3 Merzouga – 4x4 excursion around the desert – Erg Chebbi dunes – Abandoned village of Mifis – Khamlia – Taouz – Dakar Rally track – Jdaid – Ouzina Desert (80 km)

We will get up early to Enjoy the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunesA unique experience that allows you to capture the golden light and majesty of the desert. After breakfast, you will have the option to try sandboarding in the dunes, a fun and exciting activity for all ages. We'll be back later. camel or 4x4 until we reach the point where our vehicle awaits us, and we will continue our route in 4x4 towards the Ouzina desert. For those seeking more adventure, there is the possibility of doing Optional quad or buggy excursions through the dunes of Erg Chebbi (not included in the price: single quad 1 hour €40, double quad €60, double buggy €120, with guide and gasoline included). Our first stop will be a panoramic viewpoint of the dunesideal for photographing the immensity of Erg Chebbi. Next, we will visit the abandoned village of Mifis, a former mining village that was abandoned when mining ceased to be profitable. We'll drop you off at the entrance for a walk and pick you up at the exit. From a high point, you can appreciate the panoramic views of the open-pit mineswith pits and trenches up to 50 meters deep where kohl, a traditional powder used by Moroccan women to line their eyes, is still extracted. It is important to exercise extreme caution near the pits. After that, we will head to village of Khamlia, also known as the “black people's village”, inhabited by approximately 300 people of Berber, Arab, and sub-Saharan descent. The inhabitants, the GnawaThey will delight us with traditional music and dances while enjoying a mint tea (also called “Berber whisky”). There is the option to buy a CD of his music for €10 or leave one Minimum tip of €5 as a show of support. We will continue towards Taouz, from where we will take the historic track of the Dakar Rallyuntil reaching the Itrane Sahara Restaurantwhere we can enjoy a traditional Berber lunch And, weather permitting, we'll cool off in the pool. Day 4 Ouzina – 4x4 excursion around the desert – Meeting with Berber nomads – Traditional meal – Henna tattoo – Sunset in the desert (60 km)

After a relaxed breakfast around 10:00 amWe will begin our excursion in 4x4 around the Ouzina desertExploring breathtaking landscapes and secluded spots. Along the way, we will visit authentic nomads of the Saharawhere we will have the opportunity to have a welcome tea and learn about their way of life. The little ones can play with you, and if you wish, you can leave a Minimum tip of €5 or purchase some of the local products they offer. From this spot, you can take spectacular photographs of a Natural tagine in the shape of a red mountain, a unique phenomenon that combines geology and local culture. We will continue towards the Barite mineswhere we can observe the extraction of this mineral, later used in Europe for glassmaking. The visit allows us to learn about the traditional open-pit mining work, its techniques and the arid landscape that surrounds the area. At midday, we will enjoy a authentic food at a Berber family's home in the village of Ouzina. The menu includes salad, noodles, or a Berber pizzaaccompanied by the traditional welcome tea. After lunch, there will be time for rest or stroll through the village oasisDiscovering how local families live and daily life in this desert area. Optionally, those who wish may have a henna tattoo with a specialized local artist, leaving a tip at their discretion. In the afternoon, we will return to the hotel. There are three options available: Walk to the Erg Ouzina dunes to enjoy the nearby natural surroundings. Ascent to a mountain behind the hotel (approximately 45 minutes up and 40 minutes down) to contemplate a Breathtaking sunset over the pristine desertwith unforgettable panoramic views and the absolute silence that characterizes this area. Day 5 Ouzina – Taouz – Rissani – Alnif – Tazarine – N'kob (280 km)

We'll wake up early to enjoy a a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, before starting the route towards N'kob, an emblematic town in southern Morocco. Our first stop will be Rissani, one of the oldest cities in the country, cradle of the Alaouite dynasty and the former capital of the sultans of Morocco. If we happen to be there on market days (Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday), we can enjoy a vibrant and colorful atmosphereOn other days, even though the market is quieter, it still offers an authentic experience. We will stroll for approximately an hour through the soukwhere we will find Aromatic spices, top-quality dates, local crafts, jewelry, and traditional curiositiesIn addition to the possibility of seeing animals typical of the area, this walk allows you to immerse yourself in the daily life and traditions of the local population. Upon leaving the village, we will take a photo stop in front of the iconic “Desert Gate”, capturing the essence of the pre-desert landscape. We will continue our route through arid and fascinating landscapes, with small Berber villages dotting the road, until you reach Alnifwhere we will make a stop to have lunch and rest before continuing towards our final destination for the day. We will arrive at N'kob, a picturesque village located between the Ziz Valley and Draa Valley, famous as the “city of 45 kasbahs”. This place is distinguished by its traditional architecture, palm-filled oases, and the warm colors at sunsetwhich create a magical and photogenic atmosphere. Day 6 N'kob – Draa Valley – Anti Atlas – Ouarzazate – Marrakech (325 km)

After the breakfast at the hotelWe will begin the final stage of our journey, departing from N'kob towards the Draa Valley, one of the most emblematic landscapes of southern Morocco. This valley unfolds along the Draa River, the longest in the country, which winds from the High Atlas Mountains to Mauritania, and whose extent includes lush oases and palm groves as far as the region of Agdz. We will do a scenic stop to admire the views, take photographs and enjoy the serenity of this valley full of history and vegetation in the middle of the desert. We will continue our journey through the Anti-Atlas, rising to 1,660 meters at the pass of Ait Saouenwhere the landscape changes, becoming more mountainous and rocky, with spectacular views of the valleys and small Berber villages that dot the route. From there, we will head to Ouarzazate, known as the “gateway to the desert” and famous for its kasbahs and film studios, before crossing again the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass, enjoying the final panoramic views of our Moroccan mountains.
